Michelle Garcia Winner

Michelle Garcia Winner, MA, CCC-SLP specializes in the treatment of individuals with social learning challenges and is the founder and CEO of Social Thinking®, a company dedicated to helping individuals from age four through adulthood, develop their social competencies to meet their personal social goals. Michelle coined the term “Social Thinking” in the mid-1990s and since that time has created numerous unique treatment frameworks and curricula that help educators, clinicians, professionals of all types, and parents/family members appreciate that social capabilities are integral to a person’s success in life, socially, academically, and professionally.  Michelle is an outstanding speaker and you can hear her in Australia in 2019, information here.


Dr Pamela Crooke

Dr Pam Crooke has co-authored, with Michelle Garcia Winner, five award-winning books related to Social Thinking: Socially Curious and Curiously SocialYou Are a Social DetectiveSocial Fortune or Social FateSocial Town Citizens, and their book geared to adults, Good Intentions Are Not Good Enough.  Pam & Michelle collaborate on writing articles and blogs that appear on the Social Thinking USA website and in a wide array of publications.  Prior to joining the Social Thinking team, Pam coordinated the Autism interdisciplinary clinical services at the Tucson Alliance for Autism, served as a clinical and academic faculty member of three universities, and worked in the Arizona public schools for 15 years. Pam is a prolific speaker both in North America and beyond, giving workshops, presentations, and training staff on Social Thinking methodology.  We are proud to be brining Dr Crooke to Australia in 2019.  Information here.

Ryan Hendrix

Ryan Hendrix is a Social Cognitive Therapist from San Francisco. She trained and works directly with Michelle Garcia Winner and Dr Pamela Crooke. Her diverse caseload experience includes preschool-age children through young adults with varying levels of social cognitive learning challenges.  Ryan also helps supervise and train graduate students and clinicians in their clinical fellowship year. Kari Zweber Palmer

Kari Zweber Palmer is a speech-language pathologist/social-cognitive therapist at her private practice, Changing Perspectives, in Excelsior, Minnesota. She has co-authored, with Michelle Garcia Winner, Ryan Hendrix, and Nancy Tarshis, We Thinkers! Volume 1 Social Explorers and We Thinkers! Volume 2 Social Problem Solvers. Additionally, Kari consults with local school districts on implementing Social Thinking into their programming.  We are happy to be hosting Kari in Australia in 2019, information here.

Dr Ross Greene

Dr Ross Greene is the New York Times bestselling author of the influential books The Explosive Child, Lost at School, Lost and Found, and Raising Human Beings.  Ross presented his one-day training program in his Collaborative & Proactive Solutions model, to sell out attendances in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in July 2018. Ross is coming back to Australia in 2019 to conduct both advanced workshops and introductory workshops.  Tentative schedule is Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and now Cairns has been added to the list.  There could be more stops, make sure you join our mailing list via our Home Page and we will let you know when tickets go on sale. Leah Kuypers

Leah Kuypers earned a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Graduate Certificate in Autism and a Master of Arts in Education from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN.  She has practiced as an OT/autism specialist in school and clinical settings, specializing in self-regulation and social learning, and has worked with students of all ages and challenges, including anxiety, ADHD, and ASD. Leah is the author of The Zones of Regulation®, a framework designed to teach self-regulation. We are proud to regularly host Leah in Australia to conduct training workshops, she is next in Australia in April 2019, information here.  Leah is a skilled and generous presenter. Leah resides in Minneapolis, with her husband, son, daughter and dog.

Nancy Tarshis

Nancy Tarshis, a speech-language pathologist and special educator with extensive experience working with children and their parents.  Nancy conducted training in Australia in 2018 and we hope to have her back in 2019. Nancy is the co-author of We Thinkers! Volume 1 Social Explorers and We Thinkers! Volume 2 Social Problem Solvers  Nancy is the Director of Early Childhood Programming at The Quad Preparatory School, which is dedicated to twice exceptional children.  As Emeritus at CERC, she participates in ongoing research and lectures to pediatric fellows, medical residents, and psychology interns.
